Exploring The Temple Recommend Questions
So with trying to have children and it not really working out as fast as hoped, Ashley and I have had plenty of time to ask ourselves a lot of questions about what we would do as far as rules are concerned and more importantly what we ourselves are doing right now to change our lives to better reflect gospel teachings so that we can set an example of righteous living. This has had us reflect on “what is most important” with regard to getting things across that are the most important and letting the rest of the chips fall where they may when it comes to our children and us setting the example. One thing keeps coming back clearly on top in comparison, and that is the “temple recommend questions.” If we could teach our children one thing and one thing only, it would be the importance of that list of questions and being able to answer those questions proudly, standing on their own two feet. As we have focused on these questions we have honestly been in a bit shock to find how much effort is spent arguing over small issues while the same people neglect the most basic of commandments, “to be worthy to enter My house”, and continue to answer the questions on the temple recommend by lying through their teeth (in most cases to no fault of their own, just plan ignorance) and not ‘really’ qualifying for the saving power of the recommend because they honestly don’t even understand it. Because of this Ashley and I have taken it upon ourselves to change certain habits that would otherwise keep any honest Mormon from the Temple of the Lord, and will be updating it here so others who have similar desires can help with their own understanding as well as get quick facts about the real issues that people are having with certain questions on the temple recommend and might not even know it.
